Gearing up for the Season

Monday, January 26, 2009, 08:13 PM EST [General]

So, the roller coaster begins soon.  I had to call off my trip to Hoggetown... I just got out of the hospital with DVT in my lower left leg... but I'm getting ready for the trip to Deerfield Beach for FlaRF!

A lot is going on and I can't wait for the season to really get into full swing.  I'll be posting a LOT of info on all of this shortly but I'll give a little teaser here...

On February 14th, I'll be announcing my "Consort" for the 2009 Calendar Year.

I have not made a decision as yet regarding who this will be.  I know, it's not far off, but I have to make sure to make a wise choice so it might come down to a Faire-day decision.

If there are any lasses who are interested in more info or want to apply, write me.  I shall consider all options up until decision time.

    Much more to come!!!

New Year's Resolutions and Schedule of Appearances

Tuesday, December 30, 2008, 05:46 PM EST [General]

So, how many of you are making your New Year's Resolutions?

This is the time of year when we sit down and make a list of promises to ourselves that we all know we'll probably end up breaking before March... but without goals, where would we be, right?  Most of us are going to swear we'll lose weight but we will give up on that endeavour very quickly.  Some of you will pledge to quit smoking and I hope you're successful.  That's not easy.  Some of us will promise to try to be better people.  I think we should all do that, without need of a New Year to make a resolution.

One of my resolutions is to be more active on here.  That's funny, because one of my other ones is to be more active OFF the computer.  Hey, look at it this way... I will likely succeed at one of them!  I've just been looking this page over and now I am feeling like I don't update it enough, there's not much blog to speak of and I've got plenty of things going on to fuel one.

Another one of my resolutions is to achieve resolution of the situations that have plagued FL related to the Guilds.  I'm working with everyone who is willing to help to mend fences, rebuild bridges, etc. and have every faith that I'll be successful in fulfilling this resolution.  I've got a great group of people to work with on this.

Of course, I'm doing the 'lose weight' thing... need to shed some pounds to fit into my garb better... not to mention my armour!  Doc blew my mind with how much I'm weighing in at these days and I could really stand to lose about 50-60 pounds.  I'm thinking that's a good goal.  It'd be even nicer if I can get back to 240, but I'll take what I can get!

Now, my Faire schedule alone should help me to accomplish this, as there's a ton of walking in my future!  I'll be at the following shows at the following times:

Ft. Myers:  Jan 10/11 & 17/18*       (*possibly only one of those weekends)

    Hoggetown:  Jan 24/25

    FlaRF, Deerfield Beach:  Feb 14/15

BARF, Tampa:  Feb 21-Apr 5 every weekend, every day

    GARF:  Memorial Day Weekend

John Levique:  June, dates to be announced

NYRF:  August 15/16 or 22/23*      (* schedule permitting)

MDRF:  Labour Day weekend Sept. 5/6/7

    TRF:  Oct 10/11

November schedule will be decided at a later time

As you can see, I'll be all over the place this year... and I hope to see many of you!

'Tis mine fondest wish that you find every success, in this New Year, with the goals you have set forth for yourself. And that those things which involve the participation of others will also have overwhelmingly positive outcomes.

    Huzzah to 2009!!
